Phuket Town Nightlife

Nightlife options in Phuket town may be fewer than in Patong but a few places can be relied on for a good time. Local pop bands in the Timber Hut (Timber n Rock) (20:00 - 02:00) in Yawaraj Road.

The crowd of foreigners and Thais is usually dancing by midnight. The Kon Thai in the arcade opposite the Phuket Garden Hotel mixes Thai and international musical styles.

For something with local flavour, try the coffee-shops - highly popular with Thais. Attractive, usually feamale, singers alternate between playing host and singing winsome Thai pop songs on stage. Its all more pleasing to the eye than the ear. Food and drinks are resonably priced. The glitzy Bua Luang in Patiphat Road and the Pink Lady in Phang-nga Road are among the better ones.

Or you can watch a movie at the Paradise Complex located in central town, near ocean plaza and robinsson department store, titles playing are mostly in english with thai subtitles, some of the thai titles might have english subtitles, check first. They feature state of the art sound, and noone should be dissapointed.

If you get hunghry visit the night food market just behind robinsson. For a delightful and romantic Thai dinner with background jazz, the raffish Kajok See in Takuapha Road is hard to beat.

Pearl Massage in the Pearl Hotel on Montri Road and Grand Plaza Massage in the Thavorn Grand Plaza Hotel off Tilok Uthit Road are the most popular places in town for a kinky body massage. There is a traditional massage parlour in the Daeng Plaza Hotel on Phuket Road.

Two ten-pin bowling centres in town provide affordable family entertainment: Perl Bowl beside the Pearl Hotel in Montri Road, and Ocean Plaza in Tilok Uthit 1 Road beside Robinson department store, which is small but has modern bowling lanes.
